What is the Quad-copter?
A quad-copter, also called
a quad-rotor helicopter, quad-rotor, is a multi-rotor helicopter that
is lifted and propelled by four-rotors.
Quad-copters are classified as rotorcraft,
as opposed to fixed-wing aircraft, because their lift is
generated by a set of revolving narrow-chord airfoils.
The quad-copter rises four column of air to make that more stable than tri-copter and helicopter.

.
Direction of rotors rotations
Quad-copter uses two set of of identical
fixed pitch two of them rotate clockwise and others rotate anti clockwise.
Quad-copter theory of flight:
To change motion of quad-copter we use variation of RPM to
control its motions.
Control of vehicle motion is achieved by altering the rotation rate of one or more rotor discs, thereby changing its torque load and thrust/lift characteristics.

Advantages of Quad-copter:
1- don't use mechanical linkages to vary pitch.
1- don't use mechanical linkages to vary pitch.
2- Simplify the design and maintenance of vehicle.
3- Has more stability than Tri-copter and helicopter.
Disadvantages of
Quad-copter:
Less maneuverable than Helicopter and Tri-copter
